On The Needles - Sept 21, 2012

My toe-up socks are coming along.  I guess I forgot to post my progress last Friday.  A couple of weeks ago I had only one toe completed.  Before I got too far on the foot section, I started the second sock toe and worked it to the same length as the first toe.  Then I loaded both socks starts on a pair of double pointed circular needles.  I really like doing both socks at once.

When I got to the heels, I used double pointed straight needles to work each heel separately.  After both heels were done, I reloaded the live stitches back onto my circular needles.  For the leg I'm doing K2, P2 ribbing.

It's been a busy week here at the lake.  We are cleaning, storing and packing in preparation for winter.  Soon I will be back at home.  Even though I love it here, I miss my nice quilting table and machine.  I'm looking forward to doing the quilting on the Indian Star quilt I'm making for a friend.

Be sure to visit Judy L's blog, Patchwork Times, for links to other great knitting projects.  Thanks for stopping by.

  2. When I do MagicLoop socks I always end up doing the heels on DPNs too. It just seems to work better for me.

  3. Hi Diane,

Great socks in a beautiful color. What's the yarn? I am always impressed by toe-up socks. That cast on befuddles me everytime. Where in the PNW are you? I live there too!
